The Sky above Spoleto

The other day I went to Spoleto. It was amaaaaaaazing, and I’ll write a proper post about it tomorrow, but one of the things that really struck me the most about this little Umbrian hill-town was the sky. We were there most of the day from about 11-7pm and the sky changed so many times, from clear, to cloudy, to rain, and back again. I’ve never seen such colors and clouds!

about noon, still mostly sunny

a little before 1pm, the clouds were gathering

about 3 (after lunch), it had rained, but the clouds had already mostly disappeared again

see? practically clear again

but then nearer to 4 a storm was coming again

then after the sun set, the rains came again
as the sun was setting, it fought the clouds, but the storm was too big. Soon it was dark and rainy
