Bracciano: the lake, castle, and best lunch of all time?

A few weeks ago I went with my dear companion and some friends on a day-trip to Bracciano. You’ve probably never heard of Bracciano, which is a shame, because it makes a superlative day-trip. First there’s a castle:

Then  there’s a lake (unfortunately we only got to see the lake from a distance, because of time constraints, but I am psyched to return to the lake in the nearish future to enjoy its wonderousness up close).

And in this most charming of piazzas was a bitty little restaurant, which might have served the greatest lunch of all time. Smoked duck and goose, followed by a chocolate cinghiale pasta anyone?
