Plague Ambulances are the BEST: Sint-Janshospitaal, Bruges

Adorbs. Ugh, I hate myself a little now for using that word.
Adorbs. Ugh, I hate myself a little now for using that word.

Bruges is categorically adorable and the Bruges Madonna is way pretty.

Pretty!
Pretty!

But when you’re tired of all that freaking adorableness that is everywhere and you’ve also had ENOUGH of that damn Michelangelo already, go to the Sint-Janshospitaal, because you know what cuts right through the twee? Plague ambulances:

Plague ambulances are the BEST.
Plague ambulances are the BEST.

The Sint-Janhospitaal is a medieval hospital and current medical museum that is right across the way form the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Kerke where that ol’Michelangelo is located. And when you go to Bruges, I really, really, really suggest you get the Bruges City Card, because not only does it make it way economical to go to some of those “must-see” sights, you also get to go see a bunch of medical oddities. Win-win.

  1. We have just spent a week in Belgium. Oh my goodness! Bruges was to die for! I was so happy we got up early, because by the mid afternoon you cannot move! Can’t imagine the crowds in summer.
Brussels impressed me also. I was pleasantly surprised. And the people were so nice! Especially after Paris haha
